You are a living God.* You invite Your people into Your presence and there You call out in us the things that have yet to find life in us.
Hope, faith and, the the greatest of things, love. You call them by name, and before Your throne, they come. Life to the lifeless.* Springs in the wilderness.* Light to the dark.*
What I thought did not and could not exist in me, You call into existence. Hope. Humility. Grace. Truth. And the one I have struggled with the most – love.
“In the presence of Him whom he (Abraham) believed, God who gives life to the dead and calls those things which do not exist as though they did; who contrary to hope, in hope believed…”.*
You call those things which do not exist as though they did. Something from nothing.
Abraham’s faith is the highlight of this passage, but my favorite story about calling forward a type of living that really wasn’t existing yet…is Gideon*.
To a young man who was afraid and a little unsure of himself, You came to him with a bold greeting – “The Lord is with you, O valiant warrior”.*
Valiant? Valiant was the most non-existent word in his vocabulary – but not Yours.
Gideon listened, observed and obeyed…and You lifted him up into valiant living. Your strength, Your plans, Your victory…revealed in a new, valiant, vessel.*
You receive the obedient, faithful heart and call into living what wasn’t there before.
From empty to loving.*
From fear to peace.*
From doubt to faith.*
From broken to restoration.*
From ashes to gladness.*
From mourning to joy.*
From bondage to freedom.*
From dead to alive.*
You call those things which do not exist as though they did.

You are a living God, and You call forth living in me.
“Behold, the former things have come to pass, and new things I declare; before they spring forth I tell you of them”.*
